Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Competitor: Black Belt Josh Stockman
Josh was first introduced to the martial arts by his dad, a Dan Zan Ryu Ju Jitsu Black Belt. He dabbled in both Japanese Ju Jitsu and karate as a teenager and spent the next twenty years competing at major karate events throughout the west coast. After moving to Phoenix in 2005, a friend introduced him to BJJ and he was hooked. He has since competed at national and international jiu jitsu tournaments around the U.S. and earned a 3-0 MMA record (each win by submission). With gold medal victories at the IBJJF No Gi Worlds, the Chicago Open, the Arizona State Championships, and the Phoenix Open, Josh continues to compete at every opportunity and believes his best performance is yet to come.
Josh is also a content contributor to our community. He will be writing and speaking on all things life. Read more about him here.
